Nick Roe

Nick Roe brings extensive institutional experience across prime finance, hedge funds and alternative investment management.

He was at the forefront of the development of the European prime-brokerage industry during the growth of the hedge-fund sector in the 1990s. At Morgan Stanley in London, he helped develop the firm’s prime-brokerage capabilities and worked with a number of the major hedge funds emerging at the time.

He subsequently joined Deutsche Bank, where he held a series of senior roles across Prime Finance, ultimately becoming Global Head of Prime Finance. In 2005 he moved to Citi to establish its international prime-brokerage platform and was later appointed Global Head of Prime Finance, with responsibility spanning prime brokerage, financing, securities lending, Delta One and related activities. He subsequently assumed responsibility for Investor Services across EMEA.

In 2013, Nick became the first international prime broker inducted into Global Custodian’s Legends Hall of Fame, recognising his contribution to the development of the alternative-funds industry.

His wider investment-management experience has included serving as Chairman of Citigroup Deutschland KAG and as a board member of ATP’s Alpha One and Alpha Two alternative funds in Luxembourg.

He later became CEO of a start-up robo-advisory business that was subsequently sold.

According to RX’s existing biography, Nick has continued to act as an adviser and director to investment funds and advisory companies.
