Lapo Elkann is an Italian entrepreneur whose career has spanned automotive, brand development, design and international business.
Born in New York in 1977, Lapo studied in France and the United Kingdom and spent time as an assistant to Henry Kissinger before developing his career within the Fiat Group.
He became responsible for worldwide brand promotion at Fiat, working across brand and marketing initiatives and participating in the development surrounding the relaunch of the Fiat 500.
In 2007, Lapo embarked on an entrepreneurial career, founding the Italia Independent lifestyle brand and creative agency Independent Ideas. Italia Independent Group subsequently listed on the Italian stock market. He later founded Garage Italia, bringing together automotive culture, design and customisation.
His wider interests have included film, art, design and philanthropy, reflecting a career built at the intersection of entrepreneurship, creativity and established international brands.
